Yesterday, I was picking Hadley up from daycare and noticed there were several older boys (walking) in her room. I asked if she was the only girl...
'No. There is one other one but she is a few months younger,' says the care provider.
She must have misunderstood why I was asking. What she said next was priceless.
'The boys don't bother Hadley much. If they mess with her, she swats at them and screams so they're scared of her.'
That a girl, Hadley.

Hadley's First Birthday!!!
Look who's turning One! I can't believe where the time has gone. Later this week, we will be watching our youngest celebrate her first birthday. Unfortunately, it will be a whirlwind birthday as we head to Illinois/Wisconsin for a wedding and soccer tournament. The funny thing is, it's probably the only way Hadley knows how to celebrate as we are constantly on the move between Carson's baseball and soccer; Hannah's gymnastics, soccer, and cheer. Happy 1st Hadley! We love you!!!

Hadley's 'Likes and Dislikes'
Hadley has been getting exposed to various baby foods in the past month or so. She likes rice and oatmeal cereal. She REALLY likes oatmeal cereal with bananas. She does pretty good with squash, carrots, and sweat potatoes so today we decided to give her a bit more variety....in the form of peas and bananas (separately, not mixed together. We're not sadistic). Here is the video we shot of her trying both:

2012 Border Battle
We just got back from a soccer weekend in Kansas City where Carson's team was playing in the 2012 KC Border Battle tournament, U-10 division. Whoever thought that an outdoor tournament, in KC, at the beginning of March was a good idea should be evaluated. It was cold and windy for much of the tournament and they played against some really good teams.
Carson's team won their pool and were placed in the final game against the winner of pool B, a team that scored 25 goals in 3 games while only giving up 3 goals. We were told that they were the premier KC U-10 team in the area.
Our boys tied this other team in regulation to force a penalty shoot-out. Our goalie blocked the third attempt by KC Fusion however all other players made their shot. Carson was the last to kick on our team; the only lefty amonsgt 4 other right-footed players. Here is the winning shot:Carson's team won the game and he was promptly mobbed by his teamates:

Hannah's First Cheer Performance
I took these pictures a few weeks back and just discovered them, so I though I would share. Hannah had a cheer performance at Pius High School along with the other girls/groups from her cheer school.
